Revlon ColorStay Base Coat

I have found my holy grail base coat!

I originally wanted the ColorStay top coat but received this last Christmas by mistake. No regrets though because this base coat performs far more than I expected - it really stays!



The liquid is milky in color but the consistency is not thick at all. It flows easily with the brush which is wide, flat, and tapered - perfect!

But what makes this product really phenomenal is the lasting power. I think it works similar to a sticky base coat which grabs unto nail polish to prevent chipping. I've been testing my bottle for a month now and I can safely say that it really works. Recently I wore it with the cheapest nail polish in my stash without top coat and it still lasted four days without a single chip!

The only downside to this base coat is the smell. It smells like plastic, which would've been fine if it went away quickly. But just like the formula, the smell stays too. Even after applying color and top coat over it. Even after several days. So weird. But since it works so well, I'm willing to deal with it.

I'm quite excited to try the ColorStay top coat, that together with this base coat might just make my manicure wear like iron.
